Mora-Travel

Mora-Travel started in 2000, and is founded by Monique van der Heijden. She started with small trips to Madagascar for the people she knew and wanted to give them an experience. But also show those people not only the touristic places of the island and connect them with the local people.

Monique met at the ITB in Berlin the company Djoser, this company started to sell her trips to Madagascar for the Dutch customer. But in 2002 tourism business slowed due a political crisis at Madagascar. After a few years also Djoser Germany sold the trips of Mora-Travel, so they got also some German customers. Mora-Travel works together with other companies and that's why they have also some customers from Canada now. Unfortunately, in 2009 there was a crisis again. Other companies already changed because of the online developments, but Mora-Travel had other things to worry about.

Mora-Travel has some goals for in the future, which are described below:
- They want to sell 70% of their trips via another tourism organisation and 30% by direct sales.
- The company really wants to be more active online and attract the customers by online  marketing.
- Enter other European markets.

The only problem is, this company never made a Online marketing plan and they don’t know what they target group does online. Their target group is really specific and is mainly between 45 and 75 years old. I think they first should do research about how the target group is acting online (e.g. do they use social media, how do they navigate on the internet etcetera). Then Mora-Travel can set up their own Online marketing plan and this will probably help them a lot.

Madagascar

The nature is really important on this island and there is not an infrastructure like in Europe. This country is French orientated and you can find here a bit of Africa and also a bit of Asia. Some must sees are: the Baobab trees, the Rainforest of Antsinanana and for people who like to walk Tsingy de Bemaraha Nature reserve.
